The tutorial is pretty good describing how to use GIMP & GMax to create whatever you want. cb that I want to import into my CAD system Rhino3D. I came across the site and there is a fairly big download in the Tutorials section called “The Free Creative CNC Solution”. So now that I have LC to make my gcode I’m looking to get some free CAD programs to gain more experience generating my own 2D/3D images. To be honest, I must say that I like very much the LC interface and I probably would have spent more to purchase it at $75.00 it was a real bargain for me. Both MeshCAM and CamBam have very responsive forums so that is a BIG plus when you need answers to questions about the software, or CNC in general. I don’t know yet if I could say that the 3D processing is good enough, but will be testing is some more over the next few days.

In the last month I evaluated Sheetcam, Mashcan, and Cut2D/3D but I was not comfortable to choose either and so I ended up purchasing the Laz圜am Pro which for now seems to fill my needs. CamBam has a good UI, and gives you a good amount of control. Other softwares often used with CamBam (CutViewer, Mach3 etc. I will keep working with it more before I make my final decision but sofar I am really liking it. As the Linux and Mac version of Mono builds on the same codebase, I assume you will get similar results on RasPI. It has a lot of glitches, especially when clicking and manipulating the 2D/3D view.

Think that this is going to be a program I invest in. Thanks for pointing out the Mono version of CamBam, I got it to somewhat work on Mac OS X. Including bug reports and feature requests for the CamBam lathe plugin Well On and off during the Packer/Cowboy game and more after I am really starting to get the hang of it and Like it.
